NeoGen™ Plasma PSR

The NeoGen™ PSR Nitrogen Plasma System is the next generation of plasma technology, launched by Energist, purposely designed for Plastic Surgeons and Aesthetic Doctors who want to stand out from their peers. Nitrogen Plasma technology delivers controlled heating to the skin architecture stimulating a significant physiological response, without creating an open wound. Unlike ablative technologies, there is no epidermal vaporisation or charring caused at the time of treatment.

The unique energy delivered by NeoGen™ Nitrogen Plasma is non-fractionated and not dependent on a chromophore for its uptake. This provides uniform energy absorption, ensuring consistent treatment of the skin. At high energies it also supports significant tightening.

TRANSFORMING THE TREATMENT EXPERIENCE

When a patient undergoes a NeoGen™ EVO treatment, in addition to their specific need, they also benefit from a number of secondary effects unique to a Nitrogen Plasma treatment. Such as multiple conditions are treated at the same time, the whole skin architecture is treated, and the skin remains intact creating a natural dressing to provide protection which promotes fast healing.

These unique secondary effects will provide increased customer satisfaction as a result of Improved skin quality – texture, colour, tone and tightening. Also, there are fewer complications and risks compared with lasers, and treatments create a healthy, natural, lustrous appearance. There is no line of demarcation compared with fractional procedures, and the longevity of results – elastosis continues to decrease for at least 1 year. Plasma leaves 3D collagen, not flat collagen., where there is a gold standard of results around the eyes and mouth areas and significantly less downtime due to protected healing.

Long Lasting Results

Clinical studies show neocollagenesis and reduction in elastosis continuing for more than one-year post-treatment.

Eyelids and Periorbital Treatment

NeoGen™ is the ideal option for the treatment of the upper and lower eyelids, as well as the wider periorbital region. Other technologies cannot be used in this area or deliver inconsistent results.

Unique Technology

NeoGen™ converts nitrogen gas into plasma, the fourth state of matter. The plasma emerges from the handpiece in controlled pulses and rapid heating of tissue occurs as it gives up its unique thermal energy to tissue.

No Open Wounds

The treated photodamaged layers undergo a controlled thermal modification while remaining intact, creating a natural dressing to provide protection and speed healing. At high energies the epidermis sheds, but only after a new, healthier skin architecture is formed beneath.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is NeoGen™?

NeoGen™ is a treatment that utilizes nitrogen plasma to stimulate skinrestoration. Nitrogen plasma uses thermal energy to allow for the skin to be penetrated and heat to travel easily. Once the plasma’s heat transference is in full effect beneath the surface layers of the skin, this treatment can reach a much deeper layer and address the underlying causes of skin surface disruptions. This treatment is also highly effective for killing bacteria, treating acne, and allowing other skincare treatments or at-home regimens to permeate more deeply.

Who Is a Candidate For NeoGen™?

Appropriate patients for NeoGen™ are anyone seeking to change the look or feel of the surface of their skin – patients typically present with uneven skin tone or pigmentation, loose skin, age spots, acne or acne scarring, texture and wrinkles. This procedure may also be utilized to fight the effects of sun damage that may have caused your skin to have a rough texture or hyperpigmentation.

Any Contraindications?

Yes, the contraindications include:

  • Recent sun exposure (in the last 4 weeks) to the area or sunless tan (spray tan, self tanner lotions and gradual tanners).
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Patients who have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6-12 months
  • Patients with electronic implants such as a pacemaker
  • Patients with a history of skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma
  • Patients with a history of autoimmune disease (HIV, hepatitis or Lupus) or on immunosuppressive therapy
  • Patients with a history of scar formation, keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring.
  • Patients who have a medical condition that would affect wound healing
  • Neurotoxin injections in treatment area in the last 2 weeks
  • Dermal fillers in treatment area in the last 30 days
  • Patients that have experienced a previous adverse reaction to a laser or plasma treatment.

What Are The Complications I Should Be Aware Of Post Treatment?

  • Sunburn sensation – you will have a sunburn sensation that will intensity immediately post treatment for up to 6 hours post. The sunburn sensation will decrease significantly thereafter but may last up to a couple of days post.
  • Edema/Swelling – may be present. This typically lasts around 3-6 days post treatment. If swollen: sleep elevated, mix 1 tablespoon Epsom salts with 8 ounces water and soak a washlcoth in the mixture. Apply the washcloth over the areas of swelling for 10 minutes up to 4 times a day. You can also apply a cool compress. You can also consider taking an oral antihistamine (Allegra, Claritin, Zyrtec or Benadryl at night) however it is a possibility that doing so may decrease the efficacy of treatment.
  • Urticaria/Itching – this is an expected sign of healing. If the itching becomes worse and the itchy bumps do not slowly dissapear after 4-5 days, please contact [email protected] or your Practitioner accordingly.
  • Redness – with any laser treatment that stimulates collagen, redness may occur. Increased blood flow to the area is a positive sign that new tissue has been generated. After a series of 3, you may need to book a discounted BBL to address any lingering redness.
  • Acne – purging may be present post treatment.

What Should I Expect Post Treatment?

Complications, though rare, can occur. The patient must understand the importance of post care instructions, and that failure to comply may increase the potential for complications.
  • Scarring, although rare, can occur following improper post care treatment with Neogen or laser treatments
  • Hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin) or hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin)
  • Skin infection
