SkinTyte® by Sciton

AVAILABLE AT VEGA BACK BAY & VEGA FENTON

SkinTyte® by Sciton is a non-invasive light-based treatment designed to improve the appearance of mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, and body.

Powered by Sciton’s BroadBand Light (BBL®) technology, SkinTyte uses controlled infrared energy to deeply heat dermal tissue while continuously cooling the skin’s surface. This controlled heating supports the body’s natural remodeling response, with improvements in firmness developing progressively after treatment.

SkinTyte can be performed as a standalone treatment or incorporated into a more comprehensive Sciton treatment plan when both skin laxity and concerns such as pigmentation, redness, or texture are present.

How Does skinTyte work?

SkinTyte uses a specialized mode of Sciton’s BBL technology to deliver rapid pulses of red and infrared light into the tissue.

The handpiece is moved repeatedly across a treatment zone, gradually producing controlled deep heating. At the same time, integrated sapphire contact cooling helps protect the skin’s surface and maintain comfort.

Rather than removing or resurfacing skin, SkinTyte uses this thermal effect to encourage the natural remodeling processes associated with firmer-looking skin.

SkinTyte VS. BBL HERO

SkinTyte and BBL HERO use the same broader Sciton BBL technology platform, but they are used differently.

BBL HERO treatments primarily use selected wavelengths of light to address concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, redness, and visible vessels.

SkinTyte uses a continuous, multi-pass heating technique with infrared wavelengths to target the appearance of skin laxity and loss of firmness.

Because they address different aspects of skin aging, SkinTyte and BBL can also be incorporated into the same treatment plan when appropriate. Sciton specifically describes SkinTyte as being usable alone or after BBL HERO treatment.

what does SkinTyte feel like?

SkinTyte gradually warms the treatment area as the handpiece passes over the skin.

Integrated cooling helps keep the surface of the skin comfortable while deeper tissue is heated. Most patients tolerate treatment without topical anesthetic.

There is generally little interruption to normal activities afterward.

how many skinTyte treatments will I need?

SkinTyte is commonly performed as a series rather than a single treatment.

Sciton describes a typical treatment course as approximately 3–5 sessions, although the appropriate number depends on the treatment area, degree of laxity, skin characteristics, and individual goals. Treatments may be spaced several weeks apart.

Your Vega Vitality provider will recommend a treatment plan after evaluating your skin.

when will i see my SkinTyte results?

SkinTyte results develop progressively as the treated tissue undergoes remodeling.

Some patients may notice changes earlier, but improvement can continue for several months following a treatment series. Sciton reports that optimal results are often appreciated approximately three months after completing the series.

Results vary according to age, skin quality, degree of laxity, treatment area, and the number of treatments performed.

SkinTyte VS. surgical skin tightening

SkinTyte is best thought of as a treatment for patients seeking non-invasive improvement in mild to moderate laxity.

It does not remove excess skin and should not be expected to reproduce the degree of tightening possible with surgical procedures such as a facelift, neck lift, or abdominoplasty.

For appropriately selected patients, however, SkinTyte can provide gradual improvement in firmness without incisions or surgical recovery.

Complementary Treatments:

FAQ

No. Although SkinTyte is sometimes informally described as a “laser treatment,” it uses Sciton’s BroadBand Light technology rather than a traditional laser wavelength.

Downtime is generally minimal. Temporary warmth, mild redness, or swelling can occur after treatment, but normal activities can typically be resumed promptly.

Yes. One advantage of the SkinTyte protocol is its applicability across a broad range of skin types. Sciton currently describes SkinTyte as suitable even for Fitzpatrick skin types V and VI.

Yes. BBL and SkinTyte address different concerns and may be incorporated into the same treatment plan. BBL can target pigmentation and vascular concerns while SkinTyte focuses more specifically on laxity.

No. SkinTyte uses light energy to create controlled tissue heating. Radiofrequency treatments use electrical RF energy to generate heat. Both may be used for skin laxity, but they use different technologies.

Results vary because the treatment works within an ongoing aging process. Sciton reports improvement may persist for months after a treatment series, and maintenance treatment can be considered based on the patient’s skin and goals.

SkinTyte at Vega Vitality

Skin laxity is only one component of skin aging. Pigmentation, redness, texture, and volume changes often occur at the same time.

At Vega Vitality, SkinTyte can be used alone or incorporated into a customized treatment plan alongside complementary treatments such as BBL, MOXI, HALO, or other skin-rejuvenation treatments when appropriate.

Your provider will evaluate your skin, degree of laxity, and aesthetic goals to determine whether SkinTyte is an appropriate option.
